I have been thinking of purchasing the Esky flight sim but noticed that it comes only with a 4 channel controller. I have also been thinking of ordering the Esky HB CP2 which has the 6 channel controller. If I buy the actual heli with the 6 channel controller will I be able to use it with the simulator (I know that I will need an interface cable but I dont know if the cp2's controller is sim compatible) or does this simulator only allow for a 4 channel controller to work with it?

You are really only buying the controller and a free sim program. IMO the esky usb controller is great for the money. It needs no batteries and works well. KB keys for IU. works fine with clearview also.

rc_03, get Esky usb controller and play around with the free sim. If you don't like it check out clearview like Steve said it works with clearview - it costs about $30.

I bought the esky flight sim and am thoroughly pleased with it. The free FMS seems to be a pretty good program. Is clearview all that much different from FMS? and also is clearview worth the $$$?

rc_03, FMS is fine. I used it too but not now when I have Clearview. Download it and try it yourself - I think you can try for about.. like 14 days or something and you don't have to buy if you don't like it. The graphic is a lot better.

I am waiting on delivery of the ESKY 6 channel sim cable from Mile high. Will post review on its performance. I have not used clearview Just FMS. How do these two compare? Mile high also ships disk with 3 sim programs on it.

Hi JR,
Clearview is way better than FMS. It is good to hear what you have to say about Clearview when you try it.

Well it took awhile to get it running good. There was plenty of help from both Clearview and Mile high. I had problems with the aircraft rolling to the right whenever throttle was advanced. Clearview sent some items that should be checked and they all checked fine. So I sent all copies of the email to mile high and their response was quick. After a few discussions via email I ran across a version problem. They shipped Version 2.06 on their software disk and I needed 2.10 version. It was very easy to upgrade, recalibrate and restart clearview. There is a slight movement still evident within the TX. Clearview has a great feature of the TX graphic on screen. It displays movement from your TX. I have been using the TREX 450 model and you can tweak the parameters to adjust the way the model reacts. I have adjusted the cyclics gain to 100 % and it responds very quickly. I am able to learn simple setup techniques that will be very helpful when I start to fly My HB King.

Great setup for a moderate price in my opinion.
Cable allows you to use your TX with your computer. They shipped FMS and clearview and another Software program but I liked the reviews and the price of clearview. The clearview version shipped is only a trial version with way to short a time to get a good opinion of the software before you have to purchase. Good for them they have had good reviews on the internet.

I forgot to mention that the hardware setup by mile high was very easy and they have support for 11 TXs. And again great customer support!! Aleksandra was very helpful as well as Stefan from Clearview..

So with the cable and the 6ch Esky do you have to have batteries in the TX? Or is the 5V from the USB enough?

Gotta use Batteries..
As a newbie I found the time reduction trainer very helpful and I was mistaken, I was using the Raptor 60 easy model.
