I'm rebuilding my 30 after a bit of a hard landing. I got new rudder control rod, but when I went to put them together they seem about 3/4" too short. I backed the ball sockets off as much as I think is healthy and still too short. The tail boom is all the way in and seated and the belt is tight. Also, the barrel connector seems too close to the frame in it's current position. The servo is zero'd and the servo arm is 90deg straight up. Suggestions?

Hi, I need to look at the Raptor 30, I know the 50 well ! I think it uses two rods together with the servo up front. Could you add a photo of this link and I will look at the control rods that are over from the 50 build, I fitted servo on tail boom....

I have been looking at the manual for the Raptor 30, it is the same as the 50 but with obviously a longer boom/tail belt and rudder control rods.

So..... have you still got the old rods? if so straighten them as best you can and compare them with the new rods, are they the same?

Did you remove the rudder servo? If so, is it fitted back the same way round as that will gain / loose you 3/4 inch for sure??

The more you can tell me of the changes / repairs you made the beter !!

:D

I just turned the servo around. It gave me just enough extra length I needed. I'll just have to reverse it on the TX.

Well glad that helped but I take it you did not have it this way before the crash !! Book shows servo arm close to the rear not the front, maybe the rods were not stock ones you took off !! ??

Let us know how it flys after the rework.
