It has been confirmed my granddaughter will be coming to stay for a while at the end of July and I am going to do an experiment to see how much she can learn about flying heli's before she has to go home. I will be using Rona to train her so it will be interesting to see how she gets on.
Lucy has been around our heli's, electric and nitro so she isn't frightened of them and she did take part in a spoof video of her flying which meant she had to be able to understand the controls so she could look like she was doing it properly 8)

That sounds very much like fun. As long as Lucy has fun at it. Rona Corona would be the perfect trainer. :D

I think Lucy will really like Rona...when she went to the field with us she was in charge of looking after the heli's and putting their blade holders on and wiping them down...I am going to give her full charge of Rona while she is staying with me so it will be like her very own 8)
She liked it when she had a go with the co-axials so I am expecting her to really like having a go with a larger heli :D

Well I took Lucy home yesterday, she was with me for about a week and a half
She tried the sim and did a bit of hovering training and she did very well but I didnt push her to keep practising cos she was here to have fun and enjoy her visit, Martin tried her on flying a plank and to be honest she took to that a bit easier, she helped to make Martins Boomerang trainer while I was at work.
We attended our clubs monthly meeting and Lucy drew the raffle prizes and actually picked Martins ticket which was cool as that won him an indoor electric aircraft with twin motors for steering and comes complete with a 27mhz Tx.
She then went for a curry with the guys and enjoyed herself, not getting home till after midnight lol
She spent time at the field helping with the heli's and progressed to carrying out my nitro to the flight line for take off, she learned how to fill and start a nitro even putting me to rights when I accidentally was sucking out fuel rather than filling, she said I had the switch set wrongly.
One funny thing was she had taken some video of me practising auto's and then asked if she could have a go but I had to say no due to it being highly dangerous and breaking every club rule to allow a non club member with no insurance to attemp to fly fly, I said it wasnt safe and she accepted that, she also asked if I could fly higher, no doubt because of Pete, Terry, Ian and Graham ripping up the skies but I said that wouldnt be safe either lol
I have really enjoyed having her with me and will now set to work getting the vids and pic's that were taken of her visit onto HeliTown
