I have seen very little info on direct drive main motors for electric helis. I know its possible to do with a moded floppy drive motor. Since I had a few old floppy drives around I decided to take them appart to check out the motors. The heli I would convert is a walkera 52 with a stock AUW of 142g. Any info on building floppy / CD rom motors into RC worthy motors would be great.

The big motor is from a Mitsumi 3.5" floppy drive. The blue one is from a genaric floppy drive, I think from an old dell optiplex. The tiny motor is from a CD Drive.

Im thinking about trying a 78krpm 12T xmod 5A motor. I think that motor would whirl.
