Yup, you read right. After owning my first helicopter (corona 120) for a little more than a week now it's time for an upgrade. Well, not really needed but what the heck.
Three reasons why I'm getting another:
1. My brother saw me fly my corona for the first time. He immediately was hooked. He's begging to use mine all the time. He's gonna go in with me for another so we can go out and fly together. I'm already fine at hovering tail in, side in and a bit of forward flight. I'll let him learn on the corona while I practice more on the new one and I can learn new things on the corona first! 8)
2. I have a huge list of upgrade parts that I'm dying to get for the corona. I'm one of those guys who can't leave well enough alone and has to upgrade everything I own to the max. I realized that the cost of the upgrades I'm looking at could easily buy me another heli kit.
3. I'm an addict and need to buy another one, simple as that!
I want something that either does 3d for the future or is easily upgraded to 3d capability. I'm not there yet but eventually will be and don't know if I'll be allowed to have 3 helis. I don't need the best of the best but something that performs good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Any recommendations?

Learning to hover is the cheap part! Learning to fly well is a long potentially expensive road. Take it from a guy who started at the wrong end, but is stubborn/stupid enough to stay with it.
Flipping and flopping is fun and impressive, but no matter what if you can't really fly smoothly and in control you are just keeping it in the air.
Since your brother and you seem to get along very well, See if he'll find his own corona. Gatherings with him and some friendly competition are great for expanding the comfort zone. You'll have the same dis-advantage as me though because you started 15 mins earlier. . After you both get better great fun can be had in about 50' X 25' area. Not to mention the spares thing. With a corona you can go 37 crashes and never use a part. You may need the same part for the next 3 crashes.
I'd seriously think about getting to the point of doing everything an FP can do with the corona loops, rolls, etc ugly as they may be.
Helis I'm looking at next are:
Logo 10
Swift 16
Trex 600

I admit corona's are great and I plan on keeping mine but I want to get a CP expensive to fix heli!!
I'll check out the Logo, Swift and Trex!

medtech - not sure how much is your budget but I have been watching TRex 600 and Logo 10 too. Swift seem to be more affordable than the two. Since I have a hybrid MX400/Trex450, I will want to go a little bigger and it is funny now to see how small a Trex 450 is when it is next to Trex 600.

I've noticed that the swift is by far the least expensive but it looks cheaper too (less metal parts, looks all plastic)! I'm certainly going to research plenty more before making a decision.

If you like more mental or alum parts - check QJ8. It is a very nice heli.

Hi, I fly both the Swift and T-Rex 600 and if your talking 'out of the box' the 600 if far better in performance. I say out of the box as Century UK sell the swift with motor, CC 60amp ESC and 4S1P 3700 Li-Po. The 600 came with CF frames ESC BEC and motor and I added the Align 6S2P 4200 Li-Po.
The 50 size of the 600 with the added weight and good head speed makes it better too in the wind.

The swift is probably the most economical set up out there. It can fly with nimh or emolies. It's also very stable that I could hover inverted it before doing that successfully with my Trex 450. Eventhouh Swift doesn't have lots of CNC / CF parts, it flies fine. I don't see the need of blinging them other than for the look. I wonder how different it is compared with the Trex 600 still. Maybe I will know when trying one :)

Hi Medtech, :)
My vote would have to be for the T-Tex 600, it is a very good looking heli, flys and handles well and most important is popular.
People just seem to love that heli, I have not flown one but it seems to be an iconic heli and if so many people have or want it there must be something special about it. 8)
For me it is not how it flies but the fact that something about it appeals to me, my Kyosho is not a good heli to fly but I just love it even though I have been told to get rid of it I never would, it will always stay my number 1.
