I received some unwanted crashed 400 parts (mainly Shogun, blackhawk 400, 3dx-400 ...) last week.

The weather is gorgerous this afternoon, it's not windy.

I had a short fun fly this afternoon with Zen, the field was empty and within 10 minutes, it's filled with ball players. The best is there's no crash.

I was able to fly all 3 birds for a short while, Zen flew his BL Blade, we had to stop flying when the ball players are all over the field. We're so busy concentrating flyin' and forgot to take pic of the helis in the air.

The CCPM 400 flys pretty good, had about 5-6 flights and only 1 crash, that crash took her out of commission. After couple good flights to trim her out and get the tail dial in, on the 3rd flight doing some aeros and stall turns, at the 5 min mark after a loop following by a flip, she was hovering inverted steadily for 1 sec and the power got cutoff, she fell from 30+ ft, one of the main blades snapped off at the blade root area, the fly bar, spindle, main shaft are bent, some of the head part and the landing gear are damage. Luckily all the electronics survive, the frame, boom, tail are Ok.

Sorry to hear about the crash but you seemed to have a lot of fun with it. So the frame is Shogun, are the head and tail x400?

The head is 100% Shogun, the tail has the Shogun v2 belt drive conversion.

The heli is repaired, I flown her this morning in spite of the cut off (keep the fly time < 5min), it was a little breeze but she handle the wind OK. I was able to flip her and did some inverted hovering, no motor cut off and no crash.

I think I had too much -ve pitch before, it was +9 to -12, I change the -12 to -9. The previous crash probably due to over amp from the battery when I did the flip and pull a full -ve collective toward the end of the battery capacity level.

Be carefull flying with a possible cutout like that. That is what caused my compy to get destroyed. It has never flown quite the same since.

I had 4 more flights after reducing the -ve pitch 3 degree and so far so good, I also cut down the flight time from 6 min to 5 min. I hope no more in flight motor cut off.

Had a 6 min flight yesterday, no inflight cutoff, hope the problem is gone.

Here's the 7th flight of the BlackHawk 400 built from parts, it is a CCPM, belt driven tail improved from the Shogun v2.

Black Hawk CCPM frame
Shogun v1 head, v2 belt driven tail
Microheli tail
3 towerpro servo - swash
Esky servo - tail
Esky 0704 rate gyro

estarter,
Thank you for sharing your great video. You are so awesome ! Your heli looks like KRON4 New Heli for the traffic report. Beautiful color. Do you think about submitting picture of the month for December ?
