Any other HDX300 owners here yet? I received mine last Wednesday and I am still waiting on a few little parts to get it going. Can't wait to get it going.

Hi Sonex128,
This is a very elegant heli. It is small in size than Trex and it has all the alum parts for those look for nice looking heli. This is the link to some picture on mugMug. (http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/1644883/1/80349764S) Sonex128, please keep us posted on how you buld it and let us know how you like it. It seems like a very nice heli.

Here is a pic of my HDX300. I still haven't flown it. Not enough time. I hope to finish it up and fly it this weekend.

A few things I've discovered to watch out for on the HDX300:

1. One way bearing is very fragile and is damaged easily even in minor crashes. I'll be testing out a Boca Bearings one way shortly.
2. Colorado Rocks plastic blades do not work well on this heli. Due to the added weight vs. the Blade CP, the CR blades flex severely, making cyclic control nearly impossible with these blades. Plasti-Blades, which are stiffer, work fine, and hover like silk.
3. Use loctite on the tail boom where it is held by the clamp to the frame.
If not, you'll end up stripping the tightening bolt, and the tail boom will still slip.
4. Use as much Version 2 parts as possible.
5. If you're using a Version 1 tail assembly, use the newer hardened V2 tail shaft, or you will constantly be bending and destroying tail shafts before even getting off the ground:

6. Stay away from the eSky/eFlite servos. They won't last long as they have to work much harder with the extra load needed for cyclic movement of the heavier CNC rotor head. They also tend to get jittery as you spool up the rpm's.

However, I must admit, the HDX300 is much more stable and wind resistant than the Blade CP ever was.
I suppose running better quality servos and separate electronics helps a lot, too.
I'm currently running the 40 tooth tail spur drive gear, and the tail control is rock solid.
I like the fact that this heli is identical in size to the Blade CP.
The eSky King and TRex are much larger, and I wanted to stay with the Blade's dimensions.
I'll post some pics of some mods I've made to my HDX300 shortly.
