I sold the first gas heli I had on eBay, and the purchaser is thrilled. I've rebuilt the second bird, which was originally purchased as a parts bird, after purchasing everything needed to put it back together as new. As a result, some things such as the tail boom supports are the newer style such as is found on the V2, but this is a V1 bird. But, since it was originally purchased as a parts bird, and had been used as such, I'm not considering it a new bird.

The only really decent pictures I've currently got, thanks to the weather, are the ones I've attached, taken in my back yard while I was busy rebuilding the bird, and they don't show the engine or the blades. If you need more, just ask, and I'll get them for you. Don't hesitate. The Raptor is (obviously) the larger red bird in the pics.

It's got a freshly rebuilt SuperTigre 34H, and a brand new, never-built set of wood blades, just waiting to be installed. There's also an uninstalled header tank for this heli as well, in the box of parts that comes along with it. I've not got any servos or radio gear for it, but there is a JR NEJ-150 piezo gyro for it that's not installed yet.

Originally, the canopy had some paint issues and needed redone, but I had it repainted by a local hot rod builder, and he painted the canopy and fins in a bright Chevy red with no stripes. I've polished the windshield, since it was slightly scuffed up, so that it looked as good as the canopy.

I have noticed a small ding in the tail boom, but that won't affect flight. To make it flight ready, you'll need to install the engine (which will mean you'll need to lengthen the throttle shaft); install the header tank; build, balance, and cover the blades; provide and install your own radio gear; and get your linkages set up the way you like them.

There are several spare parts in a parts box to go along with it, though I'm not sure the entire extent of the "spares kit." It does, however, have at least one spare tail boom, one spare engine cooling fan, one spare main rotor hub, most of the linkage rods (I needed two and had to buy them all), and I'm not sure what else. I haven't taken the time to do a full inventory...the tail boom and the other parts are obvious.

I can ship a reprinted copy of the heli manual if desired, and a CD with some Raptor tips that I've found on the 'net, though I'm sure very similar to what's found here (though I haven't looked, honestly...I haven't tooled around the board for nitro Raptor tips, since I'm converting to electric).

I also have a spare ni-starter and charger that's available (I couldn't locate it at the time I sold my first bird, so it's available if desired) that I won't need. And, if the purchaser is local or doesn't mind an overly large box, I've got a SIG Flight Boss flight box that I won't need which is negotiable as well. It's a bit large for my needs with my T-Rex 450.

I'd like to get around $350, but I will consider reasonable offers.

Why am I selling it? I've already answered that...I've started moving into electrics instead and purchased a T-Rex 450SE since I had no time to head to the flying field. I need to get this one moved out of the way to make shelf space and to get some extra money for better servos and stuff.

A local sale would always be the best for both of us so that you could take a first-hand look and not have to worry about shipping. Of course, should that not be an option, packing and shipping will be extra, and I do make sure to pack things well. Thanks for looking!

I noticed a couple of things about the heli so I wanted to post a change to the listing. The tail boom doesn't have any dings in the one that's mounted on the bird. The ding is in the spare tail boom. The one mounted on the bird has some tape residue on it, and perhaps a couple of small scratches, but that's about it.

There's also one spare blade, a set of training gear, one spare tail boom strut (v1 style), a couple of extra gears, another full set of linkage rods that I found today when I took the pictures I'm posting with this addition to the listing, and some extra tail control rods in addition to everything listed above. Everything shown in the pictures below is included.

The only thing the buyer will need to get straightened out is the throttle linkage and their other assorted servo linkages. This should make a good heli for someone. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

That does look like a good deal.....

I just picked up my blade 400 3D from the LHS on Fri. I have a Raptor 50 nitro on layaway that will come home by the end of Feb.

I doubt it would interest you, but I'd trade all my CX/2 stuff to you for it.

4 batteries
All head / swash / flybar upgrades
lots of spare parts

At the least, I live in MT, but I am going to need a nitro box, and I want a little bigger one because I'm getting my boy a nitro car for his birthday on the 18th this month.

I don't have anything for nitro yet, but because of the car and the .50 coming, I'm going to need a box, starter, pump, glow tool, etc.

I'd be interested in the box and any other odds and ends that I now get accumulated. I don't mind paying shipping.

I appreciate the offer of the CX/2, but I don't think I'll go for it. Honestly, I'm looking to sell the Raptor so that I can purchase a more capable charger and a better set of servos for my T-Rex.

I do have a Sig Flight Boss flight box and a good ni-starter that I'll need to part with, though....I just have to remember where I put the charger for the ni-starter (I know it can't have gone too far, my bench isn't that big). Ahhh...there it is. The ni-starter is a Du-Bro Kwik-Klip III. I don't have a pic of the ni-starter, but the box pic is attached below.

I'd let the box go for $30, and the ni-starter go for an additional $5, plus packing and shipping, of course, if you're interested.

Thanks again for the offer!

Are there any electronics in the box? Or fuel pump?

Is there a place for them?

Unfortunately, there are no electronics in the box, nor a fuel pump. I've got a fuel bulb I'll throw in if you need one, though, that I'm not going to need. There's a spot for a power panel, as shown in a different view of the box, below. It's on the right-hand side of the box, as you're looking at the front, behind the vents. Hope that helps.

Here's the manufacturer's page, showing the box: http://www.sigmfg.com/IndexText/SIGBX001.html

OK, I'm intereted.

Lemme know if whoever buys the heli doesn't want the extras.

I'll be glad to do that for you. I may take the heli by the LHS tomorrow, but I'll skip the spare parts, since you're interested in them, unless they're really needed to make a deal of some sort. I had one forum member interested in the heli previously, but he decided it wasn't for him at this point in time. We'll see what happens from here. I'm assuming, that you're interested in not only any spare parts, but possibly also the flight box, fuel bulb, and maybe even the ni-starter? You might want to confirm that, though, before I get ahead of myself (I'm good at that, and don't want to assume too much...we all know where that can lead ).

Thanks again!

Yes, interested in the box, starter, bulb, etc.

I have until the end of Feb. before my nitro R50 comes home. I just got the Blade 400 3D on Fri. I needed to get a radio for the Rappy, and this DX6i will work perfectly.

The Rappy comes with fuel, the starter rod (but no starter), and electronics for the heli (servos, gyro, etc.), and is already built. The only thing left now is the starter, the fuel pump, a glow plug glower, and a box to put it in (allong with other odds and ends that get collected).

So, I am interested in the box and anything else for nitro. I don't have any of it yet. I'm not in a big hurry because I just bought the 400 and won't have the nitro until end of Feb.

OK. I've got the throttle linkage sorted out, now. Everything's good to go on this bird. I took the time to mount and plumb the header tank, too. I really wish I had the room to fly this one. It's gonna make someone a really good deal. I think I'm gonna post it on the evil auction site in a week and see what I get. I had a couple of nibbles on RCUniverse, but they weren't what I was interested in. One was a possible, but I know zip about shipping something like a gas heli to the UK, and that was one of the possibles. I'm sure he was truly interested, but I was worried about any issues I might get into...and possibly losing the heli and his money both.

Everything on this is done, now, though, except for the blades and the final servo installation and trimming. Everything looks and fits fine, to me. The engine was a snug fit, but it fit better than before (once I got a better throttle arm...that must have been the problem).

Last call, everyone...one week and it hits the auction block.

As of today, the Raptor's sold. Along with the spare parts. I've still got the fuel bulb, the nicad glow plug ignitor, and the flight box. I think that's about all of the nitro stuff I'll have left over, though. Mtpenguin, you still interested?

You bet. How much for the final price including shipping? There may be a small delay for me to get funds into Paypal. I don't get paid till this friday. Or I can send a check, MO, etc.

Let me get it all together, and box it up and weigh it. PM me with your shipping address, so that I can get the correct shipping amount, and I'll make sure it's correct. I was figuring something around $35 plus shipping, unless you had another amount in mind (and that'd get anything additional I had left over that you could use). What do you think? Oh, and PayPal sometime around Friday will be fine. I have to finish packing everything up (including the heli to ship to it's buyer as well). Thanks again!
