Hi, im just starting out with helis. My question is: Will the stock esky 6ch tx(the one that comes with the honeybeecp2) work with reflex xtr flight sim?
very nice forums here...

Welcome to HeliTown! borgia.
You could probably make it work with any sim, but why? It'll require batteries to work which will be an effort to keep up with and still be ready to go fly the CP2 at any moment. and it's not that great a TX anyhow.

Thanks steve. I had no idea you need to place batteries for it to work with a sim... but anyway I'll be using rechargeable batteries,I have them because I use them for my rc cars TX. I plan to master the sim before I try out the real heli because its gonna be my first heli and I don't want to waste money on crashes.
Do you think a newbie can handle a cp2?
thanks!

I use the ESKY usb simulator controler (~30$), in FMS, and HeliSimRC which are free. I also use Clearview which is nearly free. It don't need no batteries. I do enough battery charginglol.
I'd have to say skip the CP2, and get a ESKY Belt or King2 for about the same money. A tail that works is a huge advantage to learning. You'll do fine learning.

I have thought of buying the king2 but I have read that you have to go brushless and it just add up the expenses.
I have also looked at the belt cp, brushless already but I have also read that they have bad flight time if you use stock battery. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
The thing that attracted me to the cp2 is its cheap parts.
Thanks, looking forward for your inputs.

Everything about an RC heli is a compromise. The more the heli costs up front generally the fewer compromises. Cost, parts cost, aesthetics, performance, flight time, etc. al markers to compromise.
It's kinda funny but I've had crashes that cost nearly as much as a HB King2 RTF. So in that light I wouldn't expect a lot out of it. It should get you hovering stock and by the time the motor is getting worn out stick 75$ into it and go brushless. I keep wanting to get one but that niche in my hanger is full with 2 nicely appointed X400s.
I don't really see much point in the HB belt other than people who are pleased with earlier Esky products and want another. It's 75$ less than the trex450 and 25$ more than what tower is currently selling the MX400 Components are all the same money to get in the air with the same quality so spending the 75$ on the Trex is probably smarter. But that starts a whole sequential vortex where you end up with $1K.
Batteries... You'll come to the conclusion that they are perishable. You treat then well and they'll give you a decent return on your money. I wear out about 12 packs a year usually getting over 100 flights on each. Really I can't see much concern over the included lipo. It's the cheapest thing they could bundle that will nearly do the job (as is the case with most bundles).
So you see IMO you pick the compromises you think fit best. I say think because a person really hasn't got a clue where this hobby will lead. You wouldn't be the first person to start with a micro and 2 weeks later be building a .50 nitro.
There are also the FPs that are still inexpensive to buy and fly, if budget is a big factor. Don't rule them out as there is much to be said about crashing, walking over and straightening the blades, repeat until something breaks then fix it for <7.50$.
A good sim is a great place to start try the free ones they work. http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=A2366225&pid=W022984 is what I use and works great. So you'll have about 30$ into getting started.

steve,
Thank you very much for explaining everything! It helps a lot. What can you say about the lipo charger that comes with the esky king2? Is it good enough to charge the stock lipo or do I need to buy a good charger?

It's the cheapest thing they could bundle that would nearly do the job. lol I'm assuming it's the same as the CP2 and lama etc. It works as long as the balance connector on your battery pack fits. The stock battery fits as do most of the packs I own.
Although it charges through the balance taps it isn't a balance charger.
You will want at least 1 more charger. I recommend one that gives a readout of the total # of mAH put back as it really helps calculate your flight times to only use 70-80% and get long pack life. It also is a quality check like my FS runs for 8mins on ~1450mAH doing scale flight, If it uses 1800 then something is wrong. etc.
Another cheap charger is OK also as there seems to always be a use for them later. On a good day I'll have 5 chargers running.
