Has anybody seen this vid yet? It seems like it is hard to get one of these fly.
Enjoy

ouch.
Did the rotors cross up? looks like something failed up front but the video resolution isn't so good.
There's a company working on a tandem electric but I don't know if they're selling the kit yet. Last I heard there was some problems with getting the vacuum formed Chinook scale body for it too.

Looks like two possibilities:
- the nose wheel hung in the grass, preventing the nose from rising when he gave it collective; or
- front collective wasn't working.
Wonder what it really was...

If I had to guess from the video, I'd say it was a front collective failure, as it appeared to roll on the front wheels a little bit, suggesting the front wheel wasn't impaired. That, and there seemed to be no 'pull' on the front end; you might see a little upwards effort on the front even if the wheel was hung up, but I didn't notice
[me, being the super heli guru wiz who has only flown his first heli (FP) since Christmas lol]

Or, could it be that the back rotors are just too sensitive compared to the front.

Yep, that's possible too. I sure would like to see the mechanics in action on one of these babies...

I've flown an h-46 (ch113/a), and while I'm a newb at rc (just bought a raptor) here's my .02:
He had it taxi-ing, that much can be seen. Seems he tried to pull in pitch and it rolled left. Rear collective is a possibility, but it does appear the the forward disc is at flat pitch while the aft disc appears to have a coning angle.
I'm going to have to go with the forward disc collective unserviceable as the most likely cause.........
Or he just caught a hole/obstruction and rolled it over when he was inadvetently taxi-ing. That's why we don't taxi on unprepared surfaces. Wheeled helo's can be a "B" sometimes.........
Unfortunately, I've seen dynamic roll over before (not me) and that's pretty close to what it looks like.................

Several comments on some other forums mention the rough ground may have contributed to the accident. If you look at the ground the model was operating from, you'll see that the model only needed to move forward a little bit with the nose down attitude for the blades to groundstrike which is probably what happened. Smallish wheels..rough ground..nose down..disaster. The area looked like a ploughed field! Shame though.
