Hi
I have seen comments on some Heli web sites suggesting you should remove ratchet action on TX from throttle/pitch stick :? .This, evidently, eliminates twitchy control ( I have to say as a novice thats the least of my problems  ).I have a Hitec optic 6 which is easy to change but is this approach only for the seasoned flier or is it a good idea to start this way :?:

Hi. You should remove the clicks ! You will find that when hovering one click can be too much and you can go from 3 feet to say almost 5 with just a click!

I have found the best way on Futaba is to slide silicon fuel tube onto the rachet spring, bend it up a little so it removes the clicks but acts like a damper.

I have also been told Futaba will send you a new spring plate if you request one.

Have a look in your Tx, we did one of yours the same way at the field, after removing all the screws you need to un-screw the aerial and un-clip the two small side panels.

I am sure you will find it better without !! :D

Agree unclick it. As a novice you have your hands full with cyclic/rudder and throttle is one of the control functions that will likely become second nature without intentionally practicing. You don't need anything to ratchet and distract you from the business at hand.

Besides I have never heard of anyone wanting to put it back, even if they also fly planks on the same TX.

It's easy. Fuel tube or heatshrink, flip it over, etc anything that will stop that anoying noise that interupts my limited concentration. We can all hear your clicking (and that guy in Waukigan, who only does it to bother us) . You just need something to provide a comfortable smooth friction so the stick doesn't flop around.

You'll like it!

Steve

Hi.
Just took the clicks off throttle lever on my Hitec Optic6 :D .
If I had opened my eyes I would have seen the TX comes with an alternative clip to replace the one fitted  .
Dead easy job and makes a hell of a difference to the response :D.
