Hi, as I'm new to the hobby I was wondering if there are any other good RC Helicopter Forums or Useful websites.
I briefly read the rules and there wasn't anything about posting links to other forums so I presume its OK.
I'm currently a member here and at the following forums.
RCGroups.com
RCHeliaddict
RCMF
Heliguy
If theres something in the rules that I did not spot about posting other forums and stuff then please delete this post!
Hi Mark,
There is nothing in the rules right now stating that members cannot post links to other RC helicopter forums or useful websites, for one this forum is new and everything is still work in progress. Another reason, we purposely try to keep the rules as few as possible. Unless there is an issue, we won't add any more new rules.
You have brought up a good topic here so let's dicuss it. I personally don't have any issues with posting links to any useful websites or forum threads that provide usefull information to our members. For example, we have links to Helifreak for Bob White's videos and most of HeliTown's link pages have links to all these above forums and more. Most of people join more than one forum including myself. I still go around and post in other forums as much as I have time and that is everybody's choise.
However, posting a forum link with no useful information for any other purposes is not fair to HeliTown, plus it is not neccessary as we have a page of links to almost all forums on the Internet here (http://www.helitown.com/RCforum%20Directory.html) already.
Because this forum is for off topic discussions, I don't see why we can't discuss about what you like and dislike about other forums and websites here.
Enjoy

Hi Mark :)
Newbies to a forum can feel very intimidated, since you have been on a few give us your impression of the ones you have been on.
There is a world of difference between an experienced flyer posting a question and a Newbie and this is reflected in how other members will answer the Newbies post, in some cases I have seen a Newbie post a comment in a thread and it was totally blanked and the post carried on as if the comment had never been entered.
Every forum has a core group of people. If a question is posted you can usually guess who will answer it if you have been on the forum long enough because the same names will keep popping up, you will also get to know the feel of the forum, some are open others are under the rule of the main posters and their heli preferences.
If they mostly fly nitro and you fly nitro then you will be accepted but if you fly electric then you may feel like someone on the outside.
Now you may say hold on a minute if I start a thread in an electric section why should someone flying nitro's or gassers bother to input into the thread, well the fact is that they know their heli's so will advise and answer in any section but if they are on a mission so to speak then they will in a round about way say your heli is no good and you should think of changing it.
Here at HeliTown we accept everyone is different in their preferences and all posts are answered without bias, someone with a small electric will get the same respect as someone with a 90 size heli.
We are all pilots, some of us are better than others but we all strive for the same goal.
