I have another question for you guys, I was working on my trex 450s and I accidently cut my antenna off about two inches from the receiver. Is it okay to splice the wire back together? What should i use to do that? Can i reconnect it with a butt connector and crimp it or will that interfere with the signal. If so, what would be the best thing to use or to do? Thanks so much!!

I'd just solder it and put a piece of 5/64" heatshrink on it. If you don't have the stuff you'll need it so I'd check out harbor freight for a nice HS kit, iron etc.

I normally run base loaded deans antennas and when I remove the deans it's how I put them back.

Butt splices would probably work but they aren't well trusted and generally not seen in the hobby.

When I plug the battery in to my heli, my 450s continues to keep beep. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the throttle channel is reversed (or needs to be) and you are in programming mode.

Be very carefull when messing with throttle chan reverse. It's best done with the pinion disengaged from the main gear and motor tightend back down. don't go WOT with no load on the motor.

When I start to throttle up, just when the blades start spinning fast the heli wants to vibrate apart. What can I do? Thanks

The blades should be be snug enough to stay out if you point the nose up, then fall most way down if the heli is given a 2" bounce. Then set the blades out straight and spool up smoothly so not to "wrap" the blades up.

Most helis have some amount of ground resonance, where everything adds up at a certain speed and starts to shake. If that's what is happening then continueing to spool up it will smooth out when it's beyond that point (pretty quickly). A video would help, and I'm just guessing since this is your first spoolup. If you watch most spool up vids you can see a place where the heli kinda shudders and if it was left at that point it'd just get worse. Training gear can make it really noticable as it gives something elsse to resonate.

Or if the blades wrap up it'll rattle 'til it spins them back out.

Ok then I will continue to spool up to see if the vibes stop. But if ground resonance is not the cause, will the vibration warp any of the heli's parts? Thanks for your help!!!

What is the best blades to run on a trex 450s cf heli, just for general flying?

The 325 blade is a good general blade for 450, the 315 blade has a faster control feel. The longer 325 blade will make the bird more stable.

It'd have to be real bad and usually to have it that bad out of balance you can see something bent. It's always hard to help with this kind of problem as I can't see it from here. So I can't tell if it's normal and the new guy is freaking out or what.

Yours is newly assembled uncrashed right? Did you balance the blades? or what are they.

I can't seem to get the trim set on my trex 450. As soon as I get something one thing set it seems like something else gets off set. Is there something I can do or get to help me with this? Thanks!!!

The heli is Continuing to vibrate so I don't think that it's ground resonance. Any more guesses or tips? Thanks!!!

1st let's deal with the vibes. Just how bad are they??? Jack hammer bouncing?? or just not smooth. You can usually get a good idea by how much blur is on the tail.

??this heli was just assembled and never crashed right?? No previous damage??

I'd first carefully measure the distance from the paddles to the fly bar control set. Should be the same distance.

Never got an answer on what blades you are using and if you balanced them.

Try spool up without the main blades, if the vibration still there, you have to balance the paddles. Do check the same flybar length on both side.

Forgot to ask you to check the tail also, if the head is smooth and the tail shakes, check the tail blade balance also.

Did you check everything over after taking it out of the box make sure all the screws are tight Is your blades tracking swashplate level. If not I would recommend watching heli skills 101 by finless Bob a lot of good info there. Have a great day Rick
