In the Raptor 50 instruction manual, it calls for greasing the one way bearing, What type of grease should I use for this, and any good sources for it?? and how exactly do I go about this??? Is there any other lubrication on this model that should be done which is not mentioned in the manual??

I saw in the manual also mention of an extension for the glow plug, I have looked around at several hobby stores now and cannot find one of these, anybody have a source for them??

For the electronics I selected the JR X9303 tx with its accompanying reciever, and then S821 servos for the throttle, aileron, and pitch, an S8611A for the collective, S810G for the tail with the JR G500T gyro. Since I have not yet ordered these, I would like an opinion if these electronics are reasonable for the Raptor 50??

Anything else I should be aware of building this???

Yesterday I had received the engine (O.S. 50sx-h hyper), instructions that came with the engine says that it could be broke-in in the model, anybody done this?? or is it better to break it in on the bench?? Anything else I should look for in setting up this engine??

Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated...

If all goes well,,,my Raptor should be flight ready before the end of the month!

I use a clear silicone grease. Don't know the name of it, but it comes in a black plastic tube. I also use a very light oil on the main and tail shaft where the washout, or pitch slider moves on it to keep the movement smooth.

I use the DX6i myself, but like the 9303. It is the 2.4ghz Spread Spectrum isn't it?

All my servos aside from tail are plane jane futaba's and the tail is an older "fast" rudder servo.

I can't believe you can't find that extension. Try heliproz.com.

I just replaced my engine with a new OS .50 Hyper also. I did break it in in the heli. Have 4 - 5 tanks through it already. That motor runs GREAT! Just make sure your exhaust pressure is there and that it isn't running lean. I left a huge puddle of oil on the floor where I hovered / broke it in.

The motor has marks on it for throttle position. Make sure your getting full / even travel across the board so that 0 - 100% on stick translates to 0 - 100% throttle. Once this is done, you'll want to set the travel on the 0 side a little less to get it to run. 0 throttle means kill motor. The TX probably has an engine cut-off switch that will throw the servo the full length regardless of what travel you have set in memory.

When you mount the motor, keep spinning the starter shaft in the one -way bearing to make sure its lined up correctly. There is a little give in the bolt holes in the plastic frame for this.

I used newer neoprene tubing for my 'clunkers'. You need to soak it first before sizing because they expand when wet.

Hope this helps.
