admin
05-11-2008, 12:18 PM
Here we go again! The prize for our next raffle will be an Xtrema Li Po Charger. It is a $180USD value! I bought it for myself and did not get to use it. I is brand new and it has not been used once. So let start the game so everybody can be part of it.

http://www.tmenet.com/images/Xtrema_small.jpg

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Everybody who is registered, CONSISTENTLY active AND have posted at least 25 GOOD postings by 4:00 pm on September 28, 2008 before the raffle is drawn at 5:00 pm will be included for the drawing including all moderators and Tech Support team.

2. One person can have only one User name. Admin, HeliTown, Eddiemoth and CMAXIM are NOT eligible to play.

3. After drawing, the winner’s User name will be announced here on this thread. The person must claim the gift within 3 days (by 5:00 pm on TBD GMT-7) or the gift will be available for the next raffle drawing.

4. The winner will buy his/her own postage.

5. A good posting means any meaningful and honest posting related to RC helicopter hobby or any other topics discussed at HeliTown forum.

6. To be considered "CONSISTENTLY active", an SQL query will be run each month to find out if the person has visited the forum and paticipated in forum discussions.

So folks, let the race begin and have fun again! 25 postings are not hard to do for a period of a few months. There are no other forums or websites where you can find RC heli info fast, ask, talk, share, learn and enjoy the hobby and win a RC helicopter at the same time.

Thanks
HeliTown Admin

Wattmeter

Our wattmeter has features not found anywhere else! Like simultaneous display of the standard current, volts and watts along with temperature and horsepower displays!. The large LCD allows us to do this and the temperature probe functions to monitor motor or battery temp while you are testing. Peaks are also being recorded and are displayed in a separate window.

http://tmenet.com/images/small_w_menus.jpg (http://tmenet.com/images/w_menus.jpg)

Why do you need a wattmeter? On a new installation it is critical! It helps you determine if you are stressing or damaging your electric motor or battery with the prop / load you have placed on it. Can your battery actually hold up to the demands you place? Are you on the verge of burning out your motor? Do you have a short in your motor? Out of balance battery? Is your cutoff on your speed controller working properly? To summarize you need it to verify and optimize motor performance while measuring, testing, and matching your components. Solve your problems before it's too late!

DISPLAY: Large 4 x 20 LCD simultaneously displays:
VOLTS: - up to 60 Volts resolution .01V
AMPS: – up to 100 amps peak (50 amps continuous) resolution 0.01A
WATTS: – up to 6000 peak watts (3000 watts continuous) resolution 0.1 W
TEMPERATURE: up to 300 deg F connects to motor or battery while measuring watts!
HORSEPOWER: - up to 8.1 Hp peak (4 Hp continuous) resolution 0.01 HP
INPUT SUPPLY: 6.5V - 15V DC < 40ma
OUTPUT CONNECTIONS: 14 Gauge Fine Stranded Silicon Wire
ALTERNAT DISPLAY: records: Peak Amps, Voltage minimum (droop), Peak Temperature, Calculated Watts and Hp from min Voltage and Current Peak

I'm running one of these and loving it! Great charger! It'll pump 4A into a 10S pack which is pretty darn good. Quite too.

Currently I have 2 of the small E-Sky lipo chargers and can charge multiple packs at once. It'd be nice, however, to not have to pull out my huge 12v power supply to do this anymore. :)

swatson144

It still requires a 12v input.

Looks like something I could certainly get some good use out of. I can always use another good charger. My Triton2 does a good job, but another good charger is always a welcome addition. Thanks for the making this one the next raffle prize!

sure you can, it's amazing how fast you can get posts. just watch the boards and anything that you think you can add to or need help with, post. you've got over a month to get 25 posts, and that shouldn't be too hard if you check the forum semi-regularly.

Hi folks,
Here is a preliminary eligible list based on my query. Check to see if your name is on the list. If you don't see your name on the list, check the first post of this thread to see if you have met all the requirements. If you think that you have met all requirements, drop me a line on this thread before 4:00PM so I can add you to the list. If I don't hear from anybody by 4:00PM, this will be a final list for the raffle at 5:00PM. Good luck to everybody!

I wasn't on the list, and I was away so I couldn't verify if I was... :( I know that this was done on the last contest, but in all fairness, I wasn't notified that I would have to verify my place on the list and I forgot to check ahead-of-time. I was so excited, having been waiting since the last giveaway, but then I saw the omission and I was quite disappointed.

Was I deliberately left out or was it an accidental oversight?

Steve, congrats!! :)

Steve: Congrats on your first raffle win :) The following post is not meant to take anything away from that.

-------------------------------

I am bummed. It's affected me more than I thought it would. I thought for sure that I would have been included on the list. I had plenty of posts (well over 300), and as far as I know, I was active enough. I think the requirement to verify the raffle entrants' list is not fair to those who were not near a PC for the hours when the initial and final lists were posted.

Nothing on the main post about the contest indicates that I would have had to verify the list of potential winners. I came back, knowing that the winner was selected, hoping it was me, only to be shocked that I wasn't even included. Worse off, I didn't have any say in the matter of being excluded (whether accidentally or purposefully). If it was purposefully, I hope someone can at least tell me why, just so I know.

I did in fact verify myself for the last contest, and frankly I forgot about that process. I had no reminder, however, that I would have to do that again (out-of-sight, out-of-mind).

I feel slighted. It may just be an oversight. I was eagerly awaiting the outcome of this since the HBK2 raffle in May, only to be disappointed.

I know it's "only a charger" but in my opinion, I should have had as much chance as anyone else who had met the requirements.

Am I overreacting? Maybe. But this is how I feel.

OK Folks,
Steve can always take the best use of this charger though he bought one for himself already. It took him more than two years to win a prize from HeliTown, but as wonderful as our Steve can be he wanted to donate the charger back to HeliTown for future raffle. When I insisted that he should take something, he said he only wanted a small gift certificate like $25 for his lucky star. I gave him a $100USD gift certificate as an appreciation from HeliTown for his continuous contributions.

So for those who wanted this charger but did not get the wining number, now you have a 2nd chance. I will close down this thread and will start a new thread for the next raffle requirements soon.

Thank you Steve and everybody for making HeliTown a great RC helicopter community.
Enjoy!
