Currently I am using a Futaba 6EX. Thinking of upgrading to a 9C. Some of my buddies are recommending a JRX2 instead. Should I listen to them and get a JR. If so, what is involved in the migration from a Futaba radio to a JR one?

Many thanks.

If the JR is selectable shift the migration would be easy. By default JR is pos shift and Fut is negative. If not you'd need new receivers.

I like the programming on the 9CHP it just makes sense to me. Probably the best thing you can do is download both manuals and look at the programming routines and see which makes sense to you.

Thanks for the advise. can find the 9C manual... but not the JR. Any info to the right direction would be helpful.

clai, it does not seem like JR has manuals for downloading on their website. I couldn't find it either. I don't have a JR but a 9CHP and I love it - never think I would need another radio for now. The price is reasonable. The only thing I don't like about futaba is the owner manual - it is going more airplanes than helis. But if you get used to the futaba system and you like it (unless you don't like it), it would be easier to go with a futaba product. My two cents

eddiemoth, I like my Futaba T6EXH, it worked flawlessly for my Hirobo XRB SR and Esky Lama v3. But the limitations such as no subtrims beomes very apparent when trying to set it up for a Trex. The servos arms must be setup mechanically perfect.. it's such a pain. BTW, I found a read-only copy of the 9X2 manual (http://www.macgregor.co.uk/radio/PCM9XII.pdf) on the web. Lesson learnt, I should have gotten a better Tx in the first place. :(

Hi clai,
If you still need it, here's a link to a downloadable 9x v2 manual

Wow. That's a real nice-lookin' Tx & case. Can u do a little Tx breeding too?

Hi Clai,
My Tx did breed, this is the offspring :D
The case is called a "safe case" it's air tight, dust proof, and water tight,
and shock proof (maybe even bomb proof) a small price to pay to protect the TX
Cheers, Glen

Hi swatson 144,
yes, very soon! did you know they have 7 point throtle and pitch curves?
Glen.

I didn't know about the 7 pt. It is nice to know.

I'm glad to see you are keeping it in the case. They get dusty enough after a couple hundred hours on the flight line with out collecting dust when not in use. Not to mention most times they get damaged is getting knocked of a table etc at home.

I walk across the street to fly and usualy leave the case at home just me TX heli and bats in my pockets. I have too much fear I'll land and find the case is gone (which would likely have 3 pairs of batteries in it). Tx goes in the case as soon as I get back inside though.

You gonna get Nimh packs for it? I'm running 2300 mAH pack and it lasts for days in the 9chp. The stock packs tend to just be a tease. I fly pretty much every day so the self discharge is not a problem and at 9.8V I put back about 1000mAH so I could get a full day in if I miss a charge. :-) I keep the trusty old piranha sitting on the automatic bill payer for charging it.

Glen, I'd love the case, and the way u breed things that I gotta have. Which part of Australia are u in? I think I want to pop by your place to see if u can help me breed some of these good stuff. Cheers!

Hi Steve,
I'm going to put some 2500 nimh in it soon. I ran through two standard packs just looking and trying to program some of it! and it's always going to live in it's case.
I'll be asking you guy's to teach me how to speak JR programming in an other thread very soon. cheers, Glen :D

Hi clai,
I live in New South Wales, (east coast) drop by any time :D It's not hard to breed this stuff, just buy one and prety soon you get another one, and it's just as expensive as the other kind of breeding too! I don't do this too often though, I got a very small inheritance not long ago. I never buy the best, I just buy the best I can afford at the time.
Cheers,
