Here is the latest to my Fixed Wing fleet, a Spitfire !!!
She uses that same 2200mah Li-Pos from the T rex 450 / Mini Titan and has a flying time of about 15 mins.
Nice t fly BUT you need to keep your eye on her or she will catch you out on turns etc. :)

Sweet. I had a GWS spit but it was pretty small for 2100 mAH and to get it to balance with brushless the wing load went up too high so I gave up on it. I even made a 25X12mm 10p motor that got it to balance without adding weight. A little bigger and it would have been sweet, as it was it was a very busy flight fast and needing to be held in constant turning to keep it from getting out of sight.
What brand is that Spit? They are pretty planes sitting and flying!

Hi Steve, it is ParkZone. They sell all up with Tx etc but here in the Uk you can get just air frame, motor ( brushed ) and gearbox ( 3 to1 ) for £62. I had a ESC and two small servos, Rx also out of stock so it was a cheap scale job!
My friend Dave also has one, yet to take a flying pic of both together! As you can see, the one in the front, Dave's, is on 2.4ghz.

I often wondered how the ParkZone Spits were to fly. They sure do look very nice .
The GWS was OK brushless with a light 3s pack right up in the nose for nice CofG handling, see a couple of my old video's here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589024#post6295273). I was pretty impressed with it's minimum air speed and glide characteristics without a break/stopped prop on the second take video.
Lives in a wardrobe (closet?) for now...

I would not recommend a new FWing pilot to start with a PZ spit but once you have a few hours under your belt, try one.
The stock brushed motor and gearbox is fine, maybe upgrade when the motor needs to be replaced. It is too light for windy conditions, late evening is a good time to fly it!
