Hi folks,

I broke my Vortex 37 after a crash. It can't take off anymore. I am not sure if the motors are broken or the receiver is broken. If you have a Vortex 37, please help me.

Now, when I push up the throttle stick to the highest, the receiver's LED turns from green to red. Do you see the same thing on yours?

Thanks!

Hi evebill8,
Have you seen the response on this thread to your qustions? http://www.helitown.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=319&start=15

Yes, I tried your suggestion that all trims were in the lowest position and made sure the crystals were secured in their places both on your RX and TX.

I just wanted to see other's Vortex 37 owners see the LED will turn from green to red in max throttle too.

If you have done as suggested in the other thread, then it is likely you need some one to physically look at the heli to work out what is wrong. The LHS is teh best bet for that sort of support. There is a limit to what can be done without seeing or replacing/substituting some bits , and I think you are at that limit.

I'm new to the hobby and just received my Vortex. After a crash, my Vortex would do the same thing. At full throttle it would just spin clockwise, lifting off the ground just an inch or two, all with a red LED. I adjusted my bottom blades angle by loosening the two little screws located just above the bottom blades, adjust the blades to be angled rather than "flat"(the crash must have caused the blades to be flat)and retightening the screws.

After that adjustment, my Vortex once again flies. I hope this helps.

Thanks, andayaman! Would you please tell me if you still get the red LED in full throttle after the blades were fixed?

Evebill8, I no longer get the red LED after that adjustment. It seems that the rotor blades were spinning as fast as they can(producing the red LED)but with the incorrect blade angle, was not creating enough lift. That's what I think, but then again being new, I could be entirely wrong.

andayaman, you are right. The red light at full throttle is normal with a 4 in 1 unit. The red light is to let us know when the throttle is at the max. You can test it by disconnect the motor from the unit and pull your throuttle stick at the top, you'll see the green red turns to a red light when the throttle stick gets to the top. If your heli is set up correctly and you can hover it little above mid stick, you don't see the red light. When the motor, blade pitch and other factors causes the heli to fly at full throttle or close to full throutle, you will see the red light. You can check the balde pitch, motor or battery. In case your case you add the blades to create more pitch and then you probably do not have to fly it at full throttle any more. My two cents.

Thanks you, I ordered the Inner Shaft and blades to see if it can fix the problem.

evebill8, yes if it is still not working I can drop by and look at it for you some time next week when I am back in CA. I work in San Jose.
