Hello, been looking into getting a heli, ive done boats, cars, had a gas heli many a year ago. I want to do a electric one now. I am more then overwhelmed by the amount and sizes of heli's out there, been going thru ebay. I have realflight g2 to practice on. I dont think I hav a size preference between a small or medium or large size helicopter. I want accessible parts and upgrades readily easy. At some point once I can fly well enough to put some type of fusalage on it as scaled helicopter. What do you think, reccomendations, whats the differences between the 4 and 6 channels on a radio? What do you think of a shogun v2, walkeras im reading mixed reviews, or honeybee c2, or one like this

Well I assume since you have been involved in RC for a long time now you know that you get what you pay for. Unfortunately that is even more true with helicopters than anything else. The best heli out there right now for a reasonable price is the T-Rex 450 (you could get either XL or SE, but I recommend SE). You can finds specs of it everywhere so I would type that stuff. There is also the T-Rex 600 which uses 600mm blades and is a very capable machine, and is also resonably priced. The smaller the heli gets the more it takes to control it. But if you are looking for a good sized heli with lots of power stock, TONS of spare parts, and TONS of people to get help from I woudl highly suggest the T-Rex450 SE or XL. HERE (http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=12455) you can find fantasic instructional videos made by Bob White "Finless", and it will greatly help the building process.
BTW do you have a budget?
If not and you do decide to get the T-Rex 450 I would highly suggest these electronics:
GY-401 Gyro
3x HS-65MG servo's
1x Futaba S9650 Digital Tail Servo
TX and RX of you choice (make sure you look at all the options, I would suggest Futaba, Hitec, or JR, and if you get the 450SE make sure you get a PCM reciever)
This is not a cheap list but it is the best stuff you can get.
