I bought a Lama V4 off ebay last year... the guy sent me a 35mhz version and would not exchange for a 72mhz version... I'm in Canada... so the 35mhz get a lot of sporatic interference which is not good.

I wanted to somehow upgrade this 35mhz to a 72mhz (otherwise I'll need to buy a 2.4ghz to get away from the interference)

I have a 72mhz esky radio and Rx from my Belt CP V1 (because I moved the Belt to 2.4ghz) that I could use... however I don't know if the Belt CP 6 channel Tx & Rx would work with a 4ch Lama... anyone know?

I believe, if I'm not mistaken I need 3 things to upgrade:

Radio on 72mhz (have, if its compatible)
Receiver on 72mhz (have, if its compatible)
4 in 1 mixer for a Lama V4 for 72mhz (can buy for $25)

Anyone know if this would work? I don't want to spend $120 if I can upgrade for $25...... anyone have any thoughts if this will work? If the Belt CP Tx & Rx are compatible? :?

If you have one of the esky 6ch tx that you can turn off the mixes on it should work.

I was thinking the V2 Lama I had did have a 4N1. with a 4N1 you shouldn't need a rx just a crystal.

what would I look at to turn off the mixes? would that be switches where the batteries are?

Yep that'd be the ones.

do a quick google for turning off mixes on the king 2 tx. Also, the lama 4/1 has an rx in it, just need a crystal channel.

So according to this...

I flip 1 ON and 2 OFF, yes?

I'm not understanding how the 4in1 Rx knows the exact frequency of the Tx... like 72.850 vs 72.540 maybe it'll make more sense if I look closer at mine

oh geez, I must be having a dumbass day.........

if the 4in1 mixer has the Rx built in.......

then I can just take the 72mhz crystal off my old Belt CP Tx, pop it in my Lama Tx (take out the 35mhz, pop in the 72mhz) and then just buy a 72mhz 4in1 mixer for the Lama and it'll be 72mhz versioned

right?

Tell me I'm dense, I'm right aren't I?

uhh, no, can't do that!
Your belt cp radio is 72mhz, right? Look at the crystal in it. What channel is it? Now, buy a 72mhz 4/1 for the lama, and buy the same channel crystal as the belt radio(there is a spot on the 4/1 for a crystal, you just have to look for it)
.
Then , flip your 2 switches, and you are all ready to go!
BTW, you can't put a 72 mhz crystal in a 35mhz radio; it will not work.

What is wrong running with the 35mhz? Is it mode 1, or mode 2?

yah, just found that out, did not think of it....

35mhz gets a lot of interference... from radio signal or other signals... i'll flip the lama on and it'll be sitting on the flor and the blades will surge for a split second like I hit the throttle slightly... so I wanted to 72mhz it to stop that... or go 2.4ghz if the cost diff was close by buying a new 2.4ghz kit
