I want's to know more too.

Especially if anyone has particular experience or has seen one in action with the Highway Patrol. I forget which state was using them, I think maybe Utah or Wyoming.....

I know they were used after Katrina for damage video when it was too knarly for humans or other vehicles.

I believe it was Utah that uses them.

If you aren't sold on the Bergin I'd say also have a look at the Vario Benzine trainer (don't let the name fool you) Probably the most flexible RC heli ever. easily changed from LH RH left handed tail, right handed tail, lots of scale bodies. Probably more units out in the wild than all the others together (less chance of getting orphaned). Down side is price. OTOH if you know what you want exactly you can buy the Vario exactly like you want since you buy a bunch of ass'ys vice a heli. IE mechanics, MS and head seperately. 10mm main or 12mm main.
The mechanics I have with 12mm mains is simply awesome in quality. Since it is the same head setup as my 10mm Xperience (.90 nitro) it'll be as good a flier I'm sure.

Airstar's Mongoose is a nice rig but very clunky looking. They take a crash pretty well but the skids and struts are 1 piece at 75$. I saw one go in and it looked like 25$ worth of head parts, boom and that set of landing gear, oh and addon the 200$ blades. I have the Airstar 1 meter boom and belt drive on the Xperience and it's a great piece of kit.

Apparently that fellow doesn't measure cyclic pitch. I noticed when I set up the Xperience I had like 12 degrees on the default 60% swash AFR, tuned down to a more sedate 6 degres it's a pleasure to fly. The head is also very tunable by changing ratios.

The varios can be setup as ccpm 120 or 4 servo 90. The Xperience was setup for 120 but I intend to set the gaser up with 4 servo so I changed the xperience over (its major function was to test the electronics). I actually found the 4 servo to be easier to setup well and the Xperience frame is much tighter than the Benzine Trainer's as the servos on the Xperience are mounted in the frame like most helis now days, while the Benzin's are tray mounted out front on a tray linked to bell cranks (which must be even easier).

I have not been working on my bergen.
I know, I know, bad FlyGuy...
But, I was at a stand still.
After talking to Steve I am back on track.
Well, at least working on it again.
I will have pictures hopefully soon.
