From personal experiance, the little ignitors from model rocket engines work pretty good for electronically firing something. Curious to know the mechanics of the bird, though!
I have often though of doing this with one of my fp's. The reaction force would probably cause a crash. Oh well, it will be worth it! Have to pick up some bottle rockets next time I am in Indiana!

This simple and in-expensive all in one Radio Controlled Model Rocket Launch System was created for the RC enthusiast that wants to take their Scale RC Aircraft to the next level without breaking the bank. I had built a similar system in November of 2008 and posted a Video on the Internet and received numerous requests from RC enthusiast to build one for them. I have since modified the unit and made it user friendly in every capacity. The entire unit was designed for Large RC Helicopters and RC Aircraft but can be mounted on any RC Unit such as Tanks, Humvees, etc… Things you will notice and enjoy right away are the straight forward installation guidelines and ease of operation.

FEATURES:
• Small self contained Control Panel with flanges for easy installation
• Electric Current supplied to ignite the Rockets are from the Control
Panel and not your RC Unit
• Simple Plug and Play system.
• Reusable and hard to damage PVC Rockets

ITEMS INCLUDED:
• Control Panel with Safety LED
• Igniter Wire x2
• Blast Cap Plugs x2
• Fire resistant Wadding Paper x4
• Rocket Engines x2
• Reusable Rockets x2
• Rocket Pods & Mounting Brackets x2
• Manual

Go to youtube and type in RC Rocket Launch System to learn more and where to get one.
