View Full Version : Blades holder
Question,
Is it OK to store a helicopter without the blades folded and supported with blades holder?
Thanks!

Tends to make things sag with time and causes tracking problems etc. You don't have to buy a blade holder just cobble up one from a sponge or other suitable material. Mainly only a concern for storage.

Depending on how long you will be storing the heli a blade caddy/holder is sufficient.
If there is likely to be a lengthy delay between flights you might wish to unbolt the blades and store separately. This will stop any load being placed on the bolts for an extended period of time.

That or hanging them tail down on a wall saves room on horizontal surfaces and just leaves the blades hanging in the holders.

I totally agree hanging them tail down on a wall is the best way to store them and its what we do, mind you when people see them hanging down like great bats the topic of conversation usually starts off with "don't you think you have got too many of them helicopters now" :D :D

I couldn't find where but I thought I'd posted this simple and easy way to hang helis. I just use a 1x1.5 x5" piece of walnut and stick a proper length dowel through it and screw it to the wall. Simple cheap and don't look too bad. The dowels are a tight fit so no need for glue. You can change them for wider struts.
