Well as you may have seen on my flight log, my new kit built Cessna crashed on the second outing. Rx brown out, short found on the volt spy !

So with a big pile of broken wood in front of me I could "just about" see that with a lot of work I could rebuild it!

Before and after, my 82 inch wingspan full kit of the Skylane 182 made by Topflite USA

Start on the Wing !
I had one small part of the 82" wing that was usable, see below.
I found on the Topflite website the PDF of the die cut wooden parts, these are not shown on the plans thus a great help :D
I found that zooming 575% they printed off exact size!
Just had to stick the plan of the rib onto the wood and cut it out!
You can see the hole punches I made for the ribs, the are from K&S tube stock, note, sharpen the inside edge to stop the wood splitting!

After a lot of cutting and trying to remove the paper plan, the ribs were built up on the wing plan (for the second time around)
Good news, rib No6 was used 3 times on each wing half so there were cut on one go.

Well one side was done!

The other wing section did look Ok'ish till I removed the 1/16 sheeting.
All but two of the front section of ribs were broken.
I printed the planes and cut out the front section only and there were fitted along side anything that was left of the broken rib for added strength.

The center section was also too bad to use, After more cutting and more glue, the new one was ready :D

The three section of the wing were glued together with the correct angle set into both wings.

It is a large wing once it is all together! the extra wires are for the nav lights.
As you can see, the flaps survived the crash!

The wing is fully sheeted in 1/16 wood, lots of glue and pins are needed and three hands!

Before fitting the top sheeting one has to make sure the cables, servos are Ok and clear of problems and all is well before the glue sets :D:D
