Are you a Musician ? If you are, please share your experience with Eddie.
He always loves to play with musical instruments, unforturenately he was not suceesful with any of them.
First he tried Piano, and he took classes. However, he gave up.
Then he tried guitar. With Guitar he taught himself by following the vedio tape. Not for long he gave, too.
Finally he tried the Cambodian Musical Instrument. I don't know what to call in English. Cambodian call (Tror)
Eddie is very talented with many other skills. When it comes to Music it is not his things.

I have been a musician (writing and playing) now for over 20 years (man i feel old ;) )
My first true love to playing came when I first heard the distorted guitars of heavy metal from the early eighties, that was my first solid instrument (even though classical music was and still is my one of my fav's . Since then I have done everything from learning over a dozen instruments, toured western Canada semi full time in the early nighty's, to being in a few indie recording acts, and today have a makeshift basement recording studio that I use for my solo project (everything from ballads to industrial) and a side project that I am producing and writting the music for (more mello rock with female singer) and now I also use the studio as a temporary heli training area for hovering (very small) till the winter leaves :)
As for experience's, well with this many years in that hobby theres WAY too many to tell 'cept for the fact that its a hobby that CAN cost more than heli flyin by a long shot ;)
BTW: if there is anyone that regularly videos some of there flights and would like some original music, let me know, who knows, maybe we could help each other out :)

I saw a demonstration on You Tube by Marcus Kim to some heavy rock music and it blew me away, the music and lyrics really made an impact. 8) 8)

Its been up and down "busy wise". A couple years back I had to juggle a fulltime job, a fulltime band, and a separate recording project while still working on my first solo cd, and writing and producing with another. Burn out doesnt even begin to explain the way I fealt for that whole year.
As for always enjoyed life, well... There were bad shows, bad recording sessions, broken down tour bus, nasty bar managers, and agents that sometimes wanna rip bands off, but sometimes all it took was one great show and you forgot all about the bad. In the past couple years it just started to become more like work so I gave up allot of it so I could still enjoy it. Then finding all this spare time I decided to take up rc heli's :)

Like Chinda said, I always want to be a musician since I was young. I know that if I stick to it, I'll be good at it. Unfortunately, I never have a chance to really put my effort into any one instrument. I love music very much.
BSD, I decided to get into RC helicopter hobby also because of my burn-out. I was involved with a government's welfare computer application implementation project for 18 counties in the State of California. It took about 7 years from the start and when it got to the last year of implementation, I completely lost all my energy and motivation. I thought about quitting my job everybody, as I can't retire. If I didn't find RC helicopter hobby, I would have quit my job long ago. Other hobbies only entertain me for a short period of time. Right now, I have to keep my job as I need money to fund my expensive hobby. I'll create a thread about why you get into RC hobby from the first place so we can hear others' reasons as well.
Now, I have only two hobbies - RC helicopter and Karaoke and these two hobbies will be my life time ones for sure.

I had to wake this topic up again. At 52 I decided to take up the guitar just over a a year ago. Started with a steel string acoustic. Almost gave up and then got a second hand electric (a Fender's Squier Stats) . Like Eddie I am also in a bit of a burn out mode (strange that we both ended up flying R/C helicopters). I don't get to play as often as I should but half an hour is enough to make me feel human again. I am also self taught (a book called "Idiots guide to rock guitar") I only play for my own pleasure but folks who have heard me say it sounds good.
Eddie some advice; Get an electric guitar. The strings are easier on your fingers (they do toughen up very quickly) You can make some great souds with the right amp and effects OR you can play unplugged (or with head phones) in the middle of the night and no one but you can hear it. A guitar is great and it costs a lot less than a shrink (or spare parts for your heli)

I like to mix sounds & samples together, and I try to dabble in voice over work. For a sample, see:

I have played a bunch of instruments. Music runs deep in my family. My favorite instrument is thhe alto saxaphone. I started playing piano in 3rd grade, along with acoustic guitar. Plade lots of different woodwinds, percussion...etc.etc. Just a hobby, really, never went anywhere with it.
On a side note, I can play a wicked guiter on "rockband" and "Guitar Hero"!
