View Full Version : Win Dynam Vortex 37 Helicopter

08-17-2006, 05:57 PM
First I just want to say thank you to all HeliTown FORUM members if you are already - if not thank you for checking it here.

To encourage for members to sign up, I am giving away my own Dynam Vortex 37. BPHobbies (http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=A1972394) sells it for $134.95. I only flew it a few times to write the review. I like it very much and want to keep it for my indoor flying this winter, but I have to give it away for this forum. I know it is not exciting or significant gift to some folks who are flying bigger and better helicopters but this is only thing I can afford to give away right now. If you win and know that you will only let it collecting dust, please donate it back so we can give it to other folk who wants to fly.

There will be more gifts to come, ladies and gentlemen. So just keep posting and spreading the words about the forum.

The drawing will be done on Sunday 10/01/2006 at 5 pm (HeliTown FORUM date and time).

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Everybody who is registered so far and until 09/22/2006 5 pm (HeliTown FORUM date and time) AND active (have some good postings) will be automatically entered for the drawing including all moderators and Tech Support team.

2. One person can have only one User name. If you have more than one User Name, let me know which User Name you want to use. Admin, HeliTown and Eddiemoth are NOT eligible to play. :(

3.After drawing, the winner’s User name will be announced here in this thread. The person must claim the gift within 5 days (by 5:00 pm on 10/06/2006 – HeliTown FORUM time and date) or the gift will be available for the next drawing.

4.The gift will be shipped to any con. State in the USA via USPS first class mail. If you live in other State or countries, please help buy your own postage.

To know more about this helicopter, check the review here. (http://www.helitown.com/DynamVortexReviewPage1.html) To register, check on the Register link above or here (http://helitown.com/forum/profile.php?mode=register&sid=d1c8618a5dcc2afa6ef8d22321deadab). So folks, let the race begins and have fun.

Thanks

Hello folks,
I got some PMs from our members to clarify the eligibility criteria for the gift. Please read the eligibility criteria carefully.

To be eligible to be included in the raffle, you need to be registered AND be active (have some postings) in the forum. That means you have to participate in the forum discussions by posting. What we will do is to run a list of our members at 5:00 pm (forum time) on 9/22/2006, cross out double User IDs, Admin, Eddiemoth, Helitown and those that do not have any posting. Then, we will create raffle with the member's User name. Once a User name is selected, we will announce the winner here for 5 days for the person to claim the gift. This is done to encourage more members to register and participate in the forum. Please post questions if you are in doubt. We don't want anybody has any misunderstanding or get disappointed later on.

Hi, all im new to the world of RC helis!

Got my first heli 2 days ago (18/09/2006)

It's a Esky Lama V3 if that means anything to any of you.

Just wondering if this comp is open to anyone outside of the USA?

Hey graham.
Welcome to HeliTown. It is soooooo far away from USA to Australia but through HeliTown it is just a couple key strokes away!
Enjoy.

09-22-2006, 07:33 AM
Hello folks,
There are only 9 more hours until the cut off. I have decided that a member needs to have 5 postings inorder to be considered "active". That is not difficult, right? So if you have posted 5 postings or more already, you'll be on the list. I said this now so that some memmbers who have only 3 or 4 postings now can just post a few more then they will be placed on the list. Though I may not able pull down the sign exactly at 5:00 today, the cut off is stilll exactly at 5:00 pm on this forum. Anybody who is registered later than 5:00 pm or is not qualified because has fewer than 5 postings for this round, can participate in the next one. We have until 10/01/2006 to draw the raffle. Does anybody has any idea on how a raffle can be drawn so that you all know there is no bias? I am thinking about matching the last three digits of the Mega Lottery to your member number on the memberlist. What do you guys think?

Ranger
09-22-2006, 07:55 AM
Over here in Australia, We have no idea what your mega lottery is, nor could we could we see it on Tv to check. I can only speak
for myself here, but I trust you guy's to be honest anyway!!(works for me)

markdeacon
09-22-2006, 08:19 AM
I don't have a clue what a Mega Lottery is either but it sounds like a good idea. Just out of interest how can you find your number on the list so i know what im hoping for.

Oh yeah just remeber theres 999 combinations but not that many in the raffle lol.

09-22-2006, 11:25 AM
You will see the winning number online here http://www.megamillions.com/ We can use the draw on 10/01/2006. If there is no draw on 10/01/2006, the one after 10/01/2006 will be used until someone wins. It seems like that is the cleanest way to do as nobody has any control on anything. Anyway, this is still up to discussion. So if you have a better suggestion, let hear it.

09-22-2006, 05:05 PM
The list is closed for this round of raffle. Member 251 is the last one. There will be a bigger raffle next time guys and gals.

markdeacon
09-22-2006, 05:56 PM
What I dont understand this! How are you using the last 3 didgets of the lottery? Thats going to rule out 99 users?!?!

Also your member number changes depending on how you look at it. If you do it by decending number of posts im number 26 or something I think but if you do it by date im number 236.

This is going to be well confusing. I think there must be a easier way of doing this?

09-23-2006, 09:07 AM
Your member number on the number list is 237 and that is all how you should look at when it comes to your member number. I can see that as a problem as well for example the highest first digit of the member number is 1 and the lottery number can go anywhere from 0 to 9. There will be a lot of draws with numbers that are out of the range and nobody win. So just think about a better way - if there is no better way on 10/01/2006 I'll just write all the qualified user names, put them all in to a box and have someone who is not part of this forum select one. Someone will win this heli for sure, and I am now thinking about our next raffle already.

09-26-2006, 12:48 PM
perhaps as simple as just going here http://www.random.org/nform.html and telling it to generate 1 integer between 1 and X (where X = number of members). I think we all trust you as it is your heli :-).

Steve

At 5:00 tommorrow forum time, I will use the romdom number website Steve suggested to run the number from 1 to 29 once and post the winning number here. If the number of your name was selected, you need to claim your prize here in this thread within 5 days saying you accept the prize so that everybody knows you are still around. Then, you will PM me your address and we'll arrange shipping to you based on what we discussed earlier.

If the person does not claim the prize within 5 days, the helicopter will be avaible for HeliTown to use for the next raffle with a new eligible list. Those who are on this list will be automattically included in the next raffle.

just a quick note to let you all know that THE VORTEX 37 HAS ARRIVED :D
It got here in one piece, and after a battery charge, was up and running.
Mr's Ranger has already started to practice!! (photo's coming soon) I think I should leave it alone though, she does better than I do
My only excuse is, I use mode 1 and this one is mode 2. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!!

I am glad it didn't get damaged as it was shipped in the orginal box. I wanted to put the whole thing in another bigger box to protect the heli more but the weight went to like 7 pounds. Yes - most of people in USA use mode 2. I hope you figure out how to change the mode. Since this raffle has been completed, I am locking this thread now.
