I bought a used Realflight G1 system awhile ago, with the included remote control.

I don't know what controls do what actions on the helicopters. And Im having a very hard time locating new aircraft files for it.

Id love to find some coaxial electric birds to try to fly but no luck so far. Also, anyone can tell me what the switches, controls are supposed to do? I can find throttle and collective but thats about it.

Hello Rick, not to be trite but that is what sims do best. Teach what action the stick makes. If you are interested in getting off the ground then pick the easiest there is and try it for a while and go back to something that was harder to fly. In reality an old heli flies the same way as the newest.

The coaxial helis require 0 sim time. Though "Radds school of rotary flight" would still apply at an accelerated level. The manual that comes with your TX would answer your Qs.

I'll be happy to help with your questions, and hope that helped.

sadly, I didn't get a manual with this-I bought the older realflight used. Im using the simulator controller and not a real TX with an interface.

Ive been flipping buttons and toggles and usually the aircraft just sorta "falls over" before I can figure out exactly what control input did what. Ive been looking to find how to rotate the aircraft like rudder input for a fixed wing would do...and it's definitely not the same place.

Kinda hard when the thing just flops over or something...I finaly figured out how to switch between rotor RPM adjustment and collective, but thats about it.

typically, what are the default settings on a four channel TX? Left side I can use a toggle switch to make the stick either adjust motor RPM and head speed, or collective. right side just seems to make it fall over, which I'm assuming is cyclic.

so the big question is, how do I swing the tail around for changing direction?

dang, even stupider. It's G2, not G1. I was thinking current version was G2 and not G3.

These are all as if you a sitting in the cockpit or tail towards you.

Left stick

up and down = throttle/pitch Like an airplane in norm, center=0 in Idle up down is negative and up is positive.
left right = rudder left/right yaw L/R

Right stick each action has the same as the stick

Up down Pull back to raise nose come toward you. nose down elevator down etc
R/L aileron R tips right, Ltips left

Those are mode2 used in US
