Today was a great day for me, my Raptor Titan took its 1st flight at the club. I took it down to be looked over and test flown, I would like to thank Richard from our club who did the test flight and checked the setup. :D
This is the great thing about being in a club, you get all the help you need

Thanks Sleepster and Eddie,
I dont know how to put this so I will come out and just say it, my beautiful Raptor has had a crash and would you belive it, it had training gear on. :( :(
It went over on its side after an awkward landing and side wind (my nerves got the better of me).
I have got everything to repair it except a bearing which I will get 2morrow so it will be back at the field by saturday.
Damage:-
header tank mounting
main rotor hub
main shaft
mixing lever
flybar control rod
flybar
blades
training gear
I am lucky I have great people around me who help boost my confidence get me flying again quickly.
In fact they strapped another set of training gear to my husbands Raven so that I didnt go home on a low point but it will be hard on saturday to keep my nerve.
Luckily we have a new member who will be there so it will take my mind off of crashing.
will put up pics of Rappy when repaired, am adding a bit of bling to cheer myself up.

Broker,
Yes - RC heli pilots never surrender. I am sure you'll do better each time after you crash it and get it fixed it, as we all learn mostly from doing it. It is always good to keep picutures so we can always look back.

We ALL crash sometimes the best thing to do is not to dwell or agonize about it , as long as you know what went wrong you have learned something and you can move on to repairing ang getting your bird back up in the air. ANYONE out there who is going to learn to fly heli should hook up with an experianced pilot , it's not like a good teacher is gonna be telling you what to do alla time , a good teacher takes the time to explain why things are done in a certain way and makes it fun as well as challanging . Unless you are a natural or have very deep pockets and endless patience , going solo is not the way to learn...Sleepster... 8)

Where did you get the orange skids? We had two Raptors crash today at the field. One due to pilot error, and mine due to parts failure.
Mine was a 30, and it totaled it. I have a 50 also, and will be upgrading my crashed 30 to a 50.

Hi rc4stroker :D
I bought the skids fron Quick UK, here is their web address http://www.quickuk.co.uk/ , I have ordered quite a few things from them, I can't praise them enough, they give the old fashioned sort of personal service that is hard to find now.
Sorry about your crash, thats the hardest thing for a pilot to have to do, to go out on to the flying field to pick up the bits of heli that are probably scattered over a wide area  , its like a walk of shame, actually I think its worse if some of the guys come to help it just seems to make the humiliation that much deeper. Then the next week you turn up with the crash behind you only to find someone has found the tail blades you couldnt find the week before, even deeper humiliation washes over you. I am exaggerating a bit but you get the idea.

My Rappy returns, :D
You are lucky that you have clubs in your country , I am from Bosnia and I have to do everything myself ! I probably am the only one in Bosnia who has got Raptor 50 ! My Raptor is ready for his and my first flight , I just wait for spring and nice weather to hit the air !

Welcome to heliTown Darkov!
Just browse around the forum and ask questions so you are ready, when the spring springs.

Welcome Darkov, Nice to see another Rappy owner !! Can I ask what you fly now, is this your first 50 size or maybe your first nitro? Looks very nice, I like a house that has helis on show not out in the garage !!
What engine have you fitted and have you run the engine yet to test ? looks like a V2 version, I like the painted tail fins.

Sorry for the delay in my answer!
This is my first heli , I have just flown airplanes before and I decided it was about time to get a heli ! Engine is TT 50 , and I bought GY 401 , Futaba FS 251 s for tail , and the other servos are Hitec HS 475HB.
It is V2 version .

Nive, don'y know anout the FS251 tail servo I will look it up. Don't rush it and get some training legs !! I have a Rappy with the TT 50 pro, not flown it yet !!

The FS 251S is a Robbe servo. Robbe are essentially part of Futaba. Here are the specs on it;
(@4.8V)
Torque: 32.00 Ncm
Transit speed: 0.13 Sec/45°
Holding power: 76.00 Ncm
Now compare these against the S2954 specs;
(@4.8V)
Torque: 34.00 Ncm
Transit speed: 0.04 Sec/45°
Holding power: 85.00 Ncm
The S9254 is better and is the optimum servo for the GY401. However, it's also about 3 x more expensive.

Thanks Fireant, thought I did not know that Futaba number !! May be Ok on the tail but, like you, I only ever use 9254 with the GY 401.
Just bought a hardly used OS 50 Hyper, will replace a TTiger 50 with it. One came with my first Raptor I bought! Mat try a flight or two first as, on the Rappy, the engine is so easy to change, unlike the Raven.
