Hi,

Been trying to find time to fly the newly created CP corona and have been having trouble curing the shakes. Been balancing this and that but it seems that the main shaft is the cause of the problem. It's not bent but I don't think its aligned correctly from the top and bottom blocks. It never occured to me that they should be, because the holes don't allow that much movement.

However when I had a bearing whine I remember Matt BT saying to loosen off a bit because maybe I was placing stress on the shaft angle. It seems a lousy Lite machines design if indeed it has to be aligned vertically left/right and front back (towards or away from the keel).

Does this make sense? Is there a recommended way of doing it? You can see the top part of the head almost wobbling off center a bit.

I was really surprised that the LMH bearing scheme worked at all. It seems to work well as I have never had a problem with it. I really doubt that is what the problem is.

Many of the people with the BT hub have had problems getting it on correctly. In a nut shell having 2 opposing set screws is not a really good way to do things, but with a square hub you are limited in choices. Assembling my FS I just considered the 2nd set screw as kind of a spare. Just tighten either one tight and snug the other down. Doing other than that tends to make a mess of things. Rick had the same problem with his CP corona and that cured it. Trying to tighten both equally though logical just lets the hub rock on the set screws. That .001" or so for the slip fit will have no effect because the shaft is firmly against the side and both the hub and shaft are parallel if not perfectly centered. Having that long hub out of parallel makes a noticable difference at the top though.

Later it seemed to come back but the problem that time was a long link from the upper swash was spinning out and hitting the lower swash.

I'd check those 2 things.

If I remember right you have the 2.8:1 tail belt on stock tail feathers?
