Hi all, just want to point out a problem for the guys in the UK who are thinking of using the new Spektrum 2.4gig modules in a Futaba TX.
Please note that there is no UK CE mark for the modules if used with Futaba TX or even JR and Hitech, i know there are a few UK retailers selling them but i have to point out if you have a crash and cause damage to property or injury to someone while using there modules your BMFA insurence will be invalid, as i understand it it is the owness of the person selling the modules to get them CE approved for uses with other brand TX's, this is a very expensive project so suspect it wont be done :( , so either play at your own risk or wait for the proper manufactures modules to come out in the UK.
Anyone need anymore info on this please get back in touch.

Both the modules and Tx's are CE certified. The problem with them is that they were not checked togther as a single unit. Yes, you're correct in that it's up to the individual ro get them checked which will be expensive. I think the BMFA are also just using this as another excuse to get out of paying for any mishap. After all they are basically a glorified insurance company. Surely Spektrum are not going to release the modules for other brand tx's if they did not do extensive testing. I've not seen anything like this mentioned in the US. Anyone from the States add to this?

The FCC sees the module as the transmitter as it is the full RF package tested in its entirety. The rest of the controller is no more than a mic and preamp package. The module gets the FCC ID number, while the transmitter gets nothing.

Wish that logic would work over here !! Having said that I just bought 3 used Futaba 9ch PCM Rx's from a friend who has gone the DX7 way. I thought I would stay with 35mzh a little longer and see what Futaba prices are like !
