:?: Hi all, i have a small question re upgrading. I have a 22E-Z, and have purchased the 180L Brushless donk, 20A ESC with y connector, carbon fibre/plastic blades, and the li-po battery.

What i really need to know is, are there any more parts required? I'm sure i'm missing something.

Thanks & Regards

You 've got everything for the BL motor upgrade, plug the BL esc in ch#4 slot and that's it. Is your 180L motor 3200kv? You may start with 9T pinion or 10T for higher head speed. The Walkera BL motor is not efficient, make sure you have full heat sink on it.

I take it they use Ch4 not Ch3 as with Futaba then ???

For the stock Walkera 22E-Z radio, use slot #4 (ch4) in the 4in1 Rx for the BL esc.

BTW, if you have the first generation/version of 22e Rx, you have to open up the 4 in 1 cover and use a 1.2K to 4.7K resistor to bridge the signal pin of ch3 to ch4, I guess the mixer needs to get the throttle signal from the esc or protection in case there's high PWM pulse potential ??

Hi EST, I think the motor is the same as the Venom 3D brushless, which is 3200kv. They look exactly the same, and are both manufactured by Walkera.
I could only get/find the Venon 3D high performance heatsinks(US Site), which fits the 3200kv, and hopefully the 180L, and the standard tail motor i think? I'm in Australia, and trying too locate certain parts like heatsinks is impossible. So i have purchased the heatsinks with fingers crossed.
And just a quick question, how much is the CoG affected by the added weight of the heatsinks, li-po and engine.

180L motor has 20mm can diameter, there's quite a few brands in my LHS, you also can use GWS pink or green heat sink with some mod, they are inexpensive, cut off couple ribs and bent it to fit.
