Hi all,

I've been flying a TREX XL HDE now for about 3 months. I started on a Blade CP. Taught myself to fly.... OUCH! I've managed, with help from various forums, to get her (TREX) flying quite well IMHO. I have not seen good instructions for how to set up control throws for the servos.
The closest and only (I think) reference to actually hooking up the servos was "start with the inner hole on the aileron until you get....." Yeah but how much throw can I go to when I want the most?
I've had lots of GOOD advice but no-one actually came out and said
You can go XX degrees +/- on elev and yy deg on aileron etc. Pitch is described everywhere in the manuals and online.
My greatest concern has been that on the bench my flybar cage's upper links will contact the bottom of the blade grips when the right stick is in the corners and the rotor assembly is rotated by hand. I've also been told that they don't touch in flight. So far so good. I put white-out on top of those ball links on the cage and flew it "into all 4 corners on the xmtr"
while on high rate{ and 2 mistakes high}. 'Still got the white-out.
Somebody that 3d's with TREX 450's please tell me.....

xx degrees +/- on elev. yy degrees +/- on aileron. That way I can compare to shat I have gotten to by trial and error.

Right now I'm still learning basic aerobatics and nose in is still rough but I'm looking to have this bird B all it can B. As it is set up now I can basically flip in its own length. If'n I were better I think it might come close to rolling in its own width too.

I just want something to compare to !!!! Answers please .. Thanks Al Ramsdell Sanford, Maine USA

The general rule on CP is to:

Set max pitch recommended by manufact in swash AFR. With good mechanical center.

set max ails and eles in swash AFR where you get no interference as you noted. Corners of the R stick with full + - pitch. You can also use a round limiter on the stick to keep you out of the corners.

The above keeps you from rubbing parts later as you adjust the respective curves/throws on channels.

It's really hard for someone to tell you what you want because of very slight differences in setup can cause interference. IE you set up +12 to -12 but you have 2deg at 0 throttle (on the pure untrimmed setup) your parts are not in the same exact place as a person with +12 to -12 0 degrees at 0 throttle.

You might log on to HeliFreak.com and look at Finless Bob's CCPM set up videos. He sets up for 3-D and is very explicit and detailed about what to do and why.
