I have two Shogun, I like the choppers but hated the tail gears. I have converted both my Shogun V1's to belt drive over a year ago.
I used the Hub Dave belt drive and it is the best upgrade you can make. I am still using the orignal belt from over a year ago, in contrast I have been through many many belft on my T-rex.
My Shogun no longer has any weak areas like the tail gear stripping, it is a solid machine, and well worth the upgrade to belt drive.
The Shogun V2 has a belt drive but it still has gears to strip, the Hub Dave version is the best way to convert, no gears used!
