The cam is a hacked, 20$, 1 use camcorder. The harness is a hard hat harness with a block of firring strip contoured to match the corners on my gourd. The chunk of wood is then attached with my favorite product, 3M outdoor double sided tape, and staples.
Please no camera / camcorder hack Qs as there is a forum for that just google.
I'm thinking of hiding the camera inside a tinfoil cone covering the whole contraption. Not that it'd improve the performance but could limit peoples willingness to ask repetitive questions (How far / high / fast / long..easy? can I try?) V2 Mk-I maybe.
As is it makes a stylish accessory for anyone dressed in the bubblegum machine ensemble.

OK the pic is interesting it looks like the inside lining of a regular construction hard hat but I'm not going to ask about the obvious wing nut or allude to the fun we can have with that subject . now what you have mounted...(let me finish)...on the front looks like an Ipod but I fairly sure it's not as you said the apparatus was a kinda one time use thang that can be internally circumnavigated for your own viewing pleasure....thanks for sharing...Sleepster...

FF :)
Sporty BladeCP like setup with brushed motor and 4in1

...TwisterV2-Brushed-570mm-DDtail-FFF.wmv 21MB 3.8mins 50fps
This is my latest incarnation of a simple soft CP , a cheap basher micro, crashed many times , that I use for warming up with some FF before flying the Ecureuil. Supposed to be using for backward flight tuning skills though haven't done that much recently. Shows near stock flyer's that you don't necessarily need a brushless motor to get some sportier action from these heli's and a couple of other mod's will help performance quite well. Get the AUW below 300g and use longer blades, add DD tail and advance motor timing 6mm to max 2400rpm rotor, then run softer throttle curves to operate ~2100rpm (0,30,30,57,100 unconventional but works) to get longer lower drag runtimes with a good quality light battery. Computer TX helps iron out some of the tail mixing, throttle curves and some cyclic expo.
This particular 4in1 has a fault that has linked both pots to the gain pot and redured the tail mix dead, weird and not sure why but it limits the ability for me to get a good tail mix with the TX at all collective points. So crossing zero Pitch with this 4in1 setup has too much tail power and throws the tail out durring loops and rolls. I've stopped trying to make this type of heli do much inverted acro and use other more capable micro's for that job ( Hornet's).

That is some nice flying DarkHorse, im happy to say that after about a month or so off the stick im back, AND still rusty on my cp-pro, but im happy to FINALLY join the virtual funfly
The back yard can get a bit "gusty" due to the fence, you never know where the wind will come from next. As for me being rusty, you can tell that RIGHT away on the first vid, please dont laugh tooooo hard Stock Blade Cp-Pro, with super skids and flat bottom woodies.

DarkHorse, very nice FF - It is awesome. I can see the power of the brushless motor.
BSD, yours are great too - very entertaining. I am not good landing around with long grass. Yesterday the vertical fin got stuck in the grass and I broken and I almost crash. I did great you just picked it up and fly it again.

BSD, thanks, I watched them all and your right, the grass did jump up and grab it .
eddiemoth, the setup is using the stock 4in1 (with a fault) and brushed motor rubbish LOL. A bit like these calculator estimate numbers . I used to run some separates and brushless in this setup but there isn't much point for the money and setup hassles. The brushless ran for 18mins verses 15mins brushed and had a bit better power margin for climb, loops and floops but there is only so much power (and torque) that can be put through this type of heli due to the limitations of a motorised tail. Getting the weight down helps a lot and reduces the tail work load also, where the brushed DD tail starts to behave better. For reference, with a correct 4in1 a slightly heavier 313g setup used to floop like in this video (11MB). Although I've seen video of better economic stick skills doing more controlled tricks than I can with a similar light setup.
I'm going on a bit sorry...
Long live the virtual fun fly...
