DIY Cable Interface for CP Pro 6 Channel CCPM Transmitter?

Does anyone happen to have a link to a DIY interface, either serial or USB (perfer USB, but serial is ok if i have to get a usb to serial adapter) for the E-flite 6 Channel CCPM  Transmitter that comes with the CP  Pro to work in windows 2000/xp as a joystick? I found one at milehigh for 45 or so shipped, but if i can build my own for less (and faster) that would be awesome. Thanks.

It needs no batteries or power so I'm not having to worry about keeping my TX  charged after each session.

I once wrote:
I have used a CCPM  mixed Esky 6ch TX  audio input solution using 'SmartPropoPlus for PPJoy (the General Purpose Version)' with CCPM  filter option checked to remove most all interactions. Works with game controller compatible simulators like RealFlightG2, AeroFlight Pro Deluxe and of course FMS.

With a piece of fuel tubing on the Esky throttle ratchet it makes an adequate SIM  TX . Not much good for anything else.

Normally have to wrestle with the PC's audio mixer, wrong input or using a PC with more than one sound card can cause problems. I couldn't get it to work on a XP Media Centre edition with the new style sound cards that share 'line in' and 'mic' on one input.

Then the next issue is picking the right DLL for correct comms decoding. I found this SmartPropoPlus_3.3.0_PPJ_package.zip easiest to configure (in conjuction with PPJoy 0.83 Virtual Joystick like here). Has Walkera PCM last in the list and you can easy test the sound by moving the mouse over the speaker icon.

> and of course FMS.
Sorry, I made an error here, didn't manage to get the 6ch CCPM  mixed output to work for FMS without interaction. FMS doesn't seem to pick up the virtual joystick as a valid joy stick on my system, so was forced to use the winmm.dll method which works fine for straight 4ch Tx's but doesn't have a filter 6ch CCPM  output.

I didn't bother with the resistors, just broke out the pins that wouldn't fit from a PS2 like din plug inserted up side down with the raise locator flattened etc. (bodge it ). Been using for months with AFPD SIM  as my old USB lead is on loan to a friend. The audio method isn't as steady as the USB direct, picks up some jitter, usable and adds a slight bit of realism at times.
